How families consent to text messages from The Freedom Institute

The Freedom Institute, Inc. (EIN 65-0232400) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit private high school in Naples, Florida. We text enrolled families only after a parent or guardian opts in on our online enrollment form. This page shows exactly where and how that consent is collected.

1. Program name and description

The Freedom Institute School Alerts is a text message program run by The Freedom Institute, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit private high school in Naples, Florida. We send text messages to parents and guardians of enrolled students, and to students whose parents opted in on their behalf, about attendance and absence notices, schedule changes and early dismissals, school closings and emergency alerts, and reminders about school events. Messages are informational school communications, not marketing.

2. How you opt in

You opt in by checking the optional, unchecked-by-default text message consent box next to a phone number on our online enrollment form at freedominstitute.net/apply.html, or by giving written consent to school staff. Consent is not a condition of enrollment. See how consent is collected.

3. Message frequency

Message frequency varies. Most families receive a few messages per month, with more during emergencies or schedule changes.

4. Cost

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details about your plan.

5. How to opt out

Reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving texts. You may also reply STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE or OPTOUT. You will receive one final message confirming you are unsubscribed, and no further messages will be sent. To opt back in, reply START.

6. How to get help

Reply HELP to any message for help. You can also email info@freedominstitute.net or call (239) 427-1776.

7. Carrier liability

Carriers are not liable for any delayed or undelivered messages.

8. Privacy

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text message opt-in data with anyone for marketing or promotional purposes. See our SMS Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always posted at this address.

Where consent is collected

  1. Go to our online enrollment form at https://freedominstitute.net/apply.html.
  2. Choose a campus to continue to Step 2, "Student and family."
  3. Under each phone number (Parent or guardian 1, Parent or guardian 2, and Student phone) there is an optional checkbox. It is unchecked by default, and the form can be submitted without checking it.
